For some it's-about-dang-time news, Instagram is updating its snap-sharing features to allow for — drum roll please — photo tagging! It's a natural next step, allowing users to tag family, friends, heck, even favorite brands. The process is relatively simple: Select your photo, choose your desired filter, and, where you ordinarily type in your caption, you'll see a new "Add People" section just below. Tap anywhere in the photo where you spot your besties, and type in their names (like you would on Facebook). Easy-peasy! To see the magic in real time, watch the S.F.-centric film, which shows off the new feature. (Warning: The Farina pizza scene will induce some serious cravings.)
In effect May 16, all the photos you've been tagged in will show up in a separate tab titled, "Photos Of You," so you can spot all your cameos in other users' snaps. We have to admit, with Facebook acquiring Instagram, this was bound to happen! In addition to this update, you may notice a change in the app's logo, too. So, tell us: are you digging the new look and photo tagging, or will you mourn the inevitable death of the #regram? Weigh in below. (Mashable)
