What happens when the ELLE offices close for the day? No, not lines in the fashion closet or some Miranda/Jaqueline Follet-style espionage. Instead, it seems like staffers are making like Carly Rae Jepsen, et al by doing something soooo late 'noughties — attempting to make a viral video, like, duh. After hours at the Hearst Tower got heated, thanks to the combined help of former American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi, ELLE's own Joe Zee, and dancer/choreographer Cody Rigsby, who has writhed on stage for Madonna and Nicki Minaj. The trio played fairy godmother to one of the mag's junior editors, Julie Vadnal (stage name "Julez"), and used their combined skills and, we're assuming, cash, to produce an equally parts slick and seriously funny music vid (below) for a song dubbed, "My Heels." It has all the tropes of the Britney era — ticking clocks, a rapid makeover, flamboyant backup dancers, graphic fonts, even the recording camera trick — and we're eating it up.

That's Vadnal actually singing, and we've got to give it to her, her voice ain't half bad, despite the heavy autotune. And, with the wind whipping through her hair, the girl can clearly werk it. Of course, she's not as wretched as Rebecca Black, but we have a feeling the can't-get-it-out-of-your-head beat (and lyrics) will either annoy the hell out of listeners or secretly thrill them. Guess which category we fall under?
