We arrived at Preen bleary-eyed and worn out from just three straight days of fashion week-ing, but were instantly cheered by the sight of Kanye West making his first (of many!) front-row appearance and Pom iced coffee on our seats. But Kanye, buzz, and all, it was really the clothes that stole the show. The opening pieces were mod, '60s-inspired minidresses and fur coats that we could easily imagine on Warhol muse Nico, whose voice blared over the speakers. But then it came: The color! First in the form of a mustard-yellow wool coat, then with razor-sharp cut-out minis, psychedelic-swirl boxy frocks, and a massive fur coat that almost swallowed Anja Rubik—in a chic, Gwyneth Paltrow in Royal Tenenbaums sort of way. Rainbow brights and nary a black pair of tights in sight for Fall? Yes, please!
