If you’ve seen trailers for Wu-Tang Clan mastermind RZA’s new movie, The Man With The Iron Fists, you've probably noticed Lucy Liu wielding a dangerous looking fan, a production credit from Quentin Tarantino, and a guy with literal iron fists. In other words: RZA isn’t exactly going for subtle. Kanye West’s contribution to the soundtrack, though, strikes the opposite mood.
Produced by Kanye and RZA (and co-produced by Boogz & Tapez), the piano-driven beat gives Ye a place to wax nostalgically about his past and future with an unnamed *cough* girl. It’s the most effortless low-key track we’ve heard from Yeezy in ages, closer to Graduation’s “Everything I Am” than any of the bluster and braggadocio he’s been on since Watch The Throne. For him, "Just me and you and a plane and a pilot" equates to a 1-800-Flowers apology. This is the Kanye you can bring home to your parents.
