The Spring-Perfect Runway Beauty Look You Need To Copy

Unlike the inspiration for the beauty at Karen Walker's show, we wouldn't describe ourselves as "society women who garden in Hermès." With that said, this fancy-lady-landscaping situation turned out to be one of the only Fashion Week looks we'll be copying in its entirety — hair, makeup, nails, and all.

To create the spring-perfect face, makeup artist Benjamin Puckey for Sephora prepped the skin with a light argan oil and placed a creamy, rose blush high on the cheeks — closer to the eyes than you'd think to apply it, which created a natural-looking flush. Models wore a pink Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil to match their skin tones. To make it more stain-like, Puckey applied the lipstick with a concealer brush, patted it on with his finger, and then had the models press their lips together until the pigment settled in. The rest of the makeup was simple and glowy, with a generous amount of highlighter.

Jin Soon Choi painted the nails a deep, moody teal to echo the garden theme. The color has yet to be named, but we're thinking something along the lines of "Best Green Ever" or "Nail Polish of My Heart" would do the trick. Lastly, to represent the locks of a woman who had "set her hair two days ago, and then got sweaty and fell down in her garden," hairstylist Laurent Philippon for Bumble and bumble used Surf Spray and artful backcombing. That just-rolled-out-of-bed vibe instantly took the strands from potentially too-pretty to cool.

It's safe to say that our spring looks will now include green nails, messy hair, and bright-pink lipstick. As for the gardening-while-wearing-couture part, though, we think we'd be better off in our overalls.
