Let's face it: there are very few people in this town who are as multi-talented as
Kelly Wearstler
. Everything that the fashion/jewelry/interior designer and author (so many slashes!) creates is absurdly glamorous and refined. Her latest feat? A new, stunningly gorgeous boutique on Melrose. The just-opened shop houses the designer’s eponymous lifestyle brand and holds everything from her ready-to-wear collection (the painted splattered blouses from the resort collection are to die for) to jewelry and accessories. You’ll also find an assortment of custom made, exclusive pieces like a perfectly aged white leather jacket.
Even the space itself exudes Wearstler’s feminine yet edgy style with walls skinned in herringbone ivory wood and the custom-made work-of-art mannequins — one has insanely long arms draped in metal chains that extend from one window display to the next. So what was her inspo in creating the boutique: “It all started with designing the logo and we were figuring what color to attach to the brand. I knew everything in store would have color so the ebony and ivory was perfect — and it’s classic and timeless.“ Agreed!
