Maybe it's the turbulent times of late that are calling us back to some tried-and-true fashion classics—ages-old trends that seamlessly mesh with whatever look we happen to be wanting or working. And this time around, we've taken a shine to all the nautical stripes cruising in and out of collections big and small.
Like a siren-song to timeless style (yes, we're kind of longing for a crisp and carefree Jackie roaming the Riviera with Valentino), stripes this season and next are showing up on traditional boat-neck T-shirts and mini-dresses, but also totes and uptown bags, ruffled blouses, and chunky cardigans. Wide or super-skinny, these deep-blue banners recall that simple Americana feel that just seems right for the times. Of course, played up with decadent platforms or voluminous trousers doesn't really hurt either.
