If you're anything like us, your vast collection of art and fashion tomes is as much there to serve as reading material as it is to decorate, which makes this crazy bookcase-slash-coffee table by S.F. maker Lisa Finster all the more cool.
Spotted over at California Home + Design's blog, this aptly named "Book Table" is a custom creation that incorporates a client's favorite books into the piece of furniture, made by cutting precise holding spaces for each book inside of wooden panels.
“I love incorporating things into my work that have significance to me — it's like I am building a home for something I love while giving it a reason to live on display, or to become something useful,” Finster tells the site. “For me, the book table is like a functional memory capsule. It is a table made complete by a series of books from a formative time in my life.”
