Mad About Madras: A.P.C. Releases Madras Winter Collection

apc1029
The Dow's sudden resurgence yesterday gave us hope that we shall shop again! Today, another serendipitous little birdie from A.P.C. confirmed this belief with the news that tomorrow they will be releasing their new Madras collection in both their L.A. and New York stores, as well as online. A television program profiling a French businessman turned holy man, inspired Jean Touitou to create the collection. Touitou and friend Jessica Ogden hightailed it to India to meet him at his clothing manufacturing company (which happens to distribute all its revenues to its employees.) After this visit, Touitou created the Madras Collection—a line of feminine shirt dresses, warm checkered coats and blouses, a corduroy jumpsuit in chocolate brown, and cute-sy Mary Jane-like flats. Touitou set out to design a collection filled with the spirit of India, and much like a good helping of chicken tandoori, these pictures leave us more than satisfied.
The A.P.C. Madras Collection will be available at A.P.C. Los Angeles, 619 North Croft Avenue, 323-297-0414, A.P.C New York, 131 Mercer Street, 212-966-9685; www.apc.fr
