Nothing starts your day right like an exhilarating morning run rave. At least, the minds behind Morning Gloryville think so. They've brewed up New York City's newest A.M. workout: an early, sober, coffee-powered dance party.
Co-founder Samantha Moyo began hosting morning raves in the U.K. last summer, and on May 7, the trend hit the U.S. with a debut event in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Hundreds of early-bird ravers joined a motivational dance team to show off their moves — wearing everything from workout clothes to office attire to their Burning Man best. The next breakfast rave is scheduled for June 18, and we're ready to jump on the bandwagon. Between the fresh coffee and juice, yoga, free massages, wild costumes, and bouncing beats, this might just turn us into morning people.
The intrepid reporters over at Shape tried out the trend, so head over to see what it's really like to squeeze a rave in before your morning muffin. Glow-sticks, we assume, are optional. (Shape)
