The World’s Most Ethical Companies: Target, Gap, & A Few Surprises

And now, a slow clap for the 145 companies that recently made the list of "World's Most Ethical Companies," curated by The Ethisphere Institute…. We see the obvious contenders like environmentally conscious companies Patagonia and Timberland on there, but we were surprised to see some of the other names who made the cut.
A few blockbuster-type companies who you wouldn't have suspected: Gap Inc, Costco, Starbucks, Target Corp, eBay, and — surprisingly — L'Oreal, which recently announced plans to halt all animal testing. According to Ethisphere, the "honorees not only promote ethical business standards and practices internally, but they also exceed legal compliance minimums and shape future industry standards by introducing best practices today." Check out the full list of companies, here. (Ethisphere via WWD)
