Like sandals, sundresses, and SPF, turquoise eyeliner is practically a warm-weather necessity. There's no better way to add a hint of carefree summer attitude than by swiping a teal hue on your lashline. Problem is, this staple starts to feel kind of ho-hum after you've put it on for the umpteenth time.
So, to help us come up with a new way to wear this seasonal standby, we tapped NARS' national makeup stylist Niko Lopez. Inspired by the surfer punks from Marc Jacobs' spring '14 runway show, Lopez showed our SEO editor Everdeen how to create a graphic, slashed liner that was anything but ordinary.

The key to making this look stand out? Connecting a cat-eye flick with a downward slash on the inner corner of the eye. It creates an angular shape that feels fresh and exciting. Just watch the video to learn how Lopez crafted this cool twist on teal liner.
