Nature Retreat—Patrik Ervell’s Woodsy Winter Collection

In an industry dominated by the Annas and Carines, it's easy sometimes to forget about the boys. Patrik Ervell, gave a show that was filled to the brim with eye-candy to tantalize the more testosterone-filled editorial staffs. Incense was burning in the sunlight-drenched Pier 59 space that faced the Hudson (don't worry, no planes floating by), as slender boys marched to the dramatic sounds of choral harmonies. Shearling jackets, slim slacks with elastic waists and leg openings, and sheer hoods under thick wool jackets were a pleasant turn of aesthetic for Ervell who tends to dwell in a world of space-age and futuristic-inspired clothing. With Interview's Christopher Bollen, Style.com's Tim Blanks and Derek Blasberg, Out's Aaron Ecklin, Paper's Mickey Boardman (who arrived late and admonished an interloper who had stolen his seat), and Mr. Michael Stipe sitting up front, we understood why Ervell keeps his eyes trained on the future. And his looks awfully bright.
