As we know, New York is the home of late night, the city that never sleeps. So, partiers, insomniacs and passionate gallerinas, take note: After much success abroad, an all-night art festival, Nuit Blanche, is coming to our party-hearty city. At sunset on Saturday, October 1, come down to the Greenpoint, Brooklyn waterfront to see
Bring to Light
, a collection of contemporary art installations including over 50 artists, designers, filmmakers, writers, and musicians from around the world. But don't think you'll just be watching light projections or videos on a screen—projects include a device that will turn your shadow into a mythical forest creature (patronus, anyone?), a mobile app that lets you add stars to the sky with augmented reality and 3-D graphics, and a canopy of lights that react to the sound of musical acts, performing for you live. This innovative art show will only take place for one night, so make sure you keep your Saturday evening cleared for an eve under the star—your stars!
