Disclosure, TNGHT, Julio Bashmore: Central Park SummerStage, August 6, $30
This Tuesday, three of the greatest electronic bands on the planet will take over SummerStage. Headliner Disclosure exploded with one of the best albums of the year titled Settle, while TNGHT (a.k.a. Lunice and Hudson Mohawk) make absolutely huge instrumental hip-hop tracks (the duo's “R U Ready” found its way onto Kanye's Yeezus). This will be a fun one.
Tuesday, August 6, 5 p.m., Central Park SummerStage, 69th St (At Fifth Avenue entrance/Rumsey Field), Central Park; 212-360-2777.
Mad Decent Block Party: Major Lazer, Matt & Kim, Dillon Francis, Flosstradamus, Rockie Fresh, Keys n Krates, Destructo: Williamsburg Park, $33.50
Mad Decent's traveling roadshow of booty-shaking, neon-infused dance music hits Williamsburg this Saturday afternoon. With a lineup headlined by Diplo's Major Lazer outfit and featuring Brooklyn locals Matt & Kim, this is going to be a party like no one else can throw. If you still have the energy, the crew is also playing the Music Hall for the official after-party.
Saturday, August 10, 1 p.m., Williamsburg Park, 50 Kent Avenue (between North 11th and North 12th streets); Brooklyn; No phone.
Summer Camp: Caveman, Widowspeak, Yellow Ostrich, Pearl and the Band, Vensaire, Belle Mare: A "Secret Location" One Hour North of NYC, August 3, 4, and 5, FREE with Metro North Ticket
We can't give you the location of The Wild Honey Pie and Consequence of Sound's Summer Camp event, but we do know the lineup features some of our favorite fuzzed-out indie rockers. For this free show you just RSVP and the promoters send you the location the day of the show. You'll then head "one hour north of NYC" to hang upstate and watch Cavemen, Widowspeak, and more in a beautiful natural setting. Sounds good to us.
Saturday, August 10, 12 to 10 p.m., Secret Location, ??????; ??????; ??????.
