Kendrick Lamar, Ab Soul, Jay Rock, Bishop Nehru: Williamsburg Park, September 10, $35
The MC with the most talked about verse of the summer hits Williamsburg with a crew of his friends and cohorts. Should be a fantastic show for rap fans and a last sunny taste of the waterfront before fall really sets in.
Tuesday, September 10, 5:30 p.m., Williamsburg Park, 50 Kent Avenue (between N. 11th and N. 12th streets); Brooklyn.
Glass Candy and Chromatics: Terminal 5, September 13, $25
The two finest gems of Johnny Jewel's collection, Glass Candy and Chromatics, make some of our favorite synth-pop and Italo-inspired pop around. Just one of these bands could comfortably headline Terminal 5, but it makes so much sense that they'll be sharing the stage together.
Friday, September 13, 8 p.m., Terminal 5, 610 W. 56th Street (between 11th and 12th Aves.); 212-582-6600.
BasilicaSoundScape 2013: DIIV, Julianna Barwick, Cass McCombs, Evian Christ, Pharmakon, Teengirl Fantasy, and more: Basilica Hudson, September 13 and 14, $35 per day/ $60 for 2 day
If you're looking to get out of the city this weekend just hop on the Amtrak and head up to Hudson. This year's BasilicaSoundScape takes place in Basilica Hudson, an 1800s-era factory transformed into an art, performance, production and event space. Along with a fantastic roster of bands, the event also features numerous artists including Matthew Barney and Genevieve White. Friday leans toward more electronic and experimental music, while Saturday features guitar acts like Cass McCombs and DIIV.
Friday and Saturday, September 13 and 14, 7 p.m., Basilica Hudson, 110 S. Front St.; Hudson, NY.
