Brooklyn Staple Oak Is Uprooting To A New, Super-Sized McCarren Park Space

Williamsburg-born retailer Oak is moving! After five fashion-filled years at North 8th Street, the cult store (and R29’s first advertiser, holla!) will be expanding and relocating closer to McCarren Park, the intersection of Williamsburg and Greenpoint.
The mini-chain's home base is evident in their aesthetic ideologies —  Oak calls “Williamsburg’s transformative culture … the very core our brand and the perfect canvas for us to develop our vision." The fresh location will be a continuation of that starting point, as the dynamism and energy of the park will reinforce Oak's mission to “explore new ways to be at the forefront of new ideas while always remaining true to our roots of New York rebellion in all its forms.”

An NYC staple (and our go-to for years), Oak’s highly curated selection of Thakoon, Alexander Wang, Cheap Monday, Rick Owens, and, of course, their own designs, guarantees our closets have a steady injection of insta-downtown cool. Now, we're stoked (but our wallets aren't) that the Brooklyn store will keep the haute hipster fashion coming, but super-sized. Ready to rebel?
