Bling Watch: A New Robot-Chic Collection

Four pieces isn't a lot for a jeweler's fall collection, so you better be sure you're packing quite the punch. Luckily, LES-based designer Pamela Johnston manages to pull it off, with a fall '10 line that, while low on quantity, is high on quality. Johnston first stepped onto the fashion scene a few years back, with a degree from Parsons and a stint as Yigal Azrouël's gal Friday. She launched her own label, Plume, in spring 2005, after friends kept trying to snag her personal creations for their own jewelry boxes. Her latest gems are inspired by the robot ''M-Machine," from iconic movie Metropolis. Fittingly, the selection of neck candy (all under $300!) serves up a robotic mixture of ribbon, chain, and brass trinkets for a future-perfect bling experience. Look for Johnston's update on her classic Accordion necklace and the Macrame Trinket Bib that Judy Jetson might covet. So, if four is your lucky number, take a time-machine ride forward with Plume—your neck will never look more ahead of the curve.
