Party On! The Cool Against the Cruel at Last Night’s Humane Society Fete

The Bowery Hotel was home to one of downtown's more civilized parties last night as the hotel hosted the Humane Society's Cool vs. Cruel event. The event started promptly at 7 and people were being ushered out at 9 on the dot. Organized with the intention of honoring design students for their efforts to be cruelty free, people seemed to be more entranced by Agyness Deyn and Albert Hammond Jr.'s lovey-dovey ways in the DJ booth, where they remained most of the evening except to make a brief (publicist-escorted) walk-through. The rest of the guest list included MANY Bravo network stars (Jay McCarroll, Suede, and Ronnie from Make Me a Supermodel), multitalented Charlotte Ronson, ANTM's Nigel Barker, and the to-be-expected mash-up of New York It people and pseudo-celebs. After panicking about wearing vintage suede shoes, we were delighted and disheartened at the amount of leather dotting the crowd. But the highlight of the night had to be when the coat-check girl told us how a woman actually wore a fur coat to the event, and cowered away as she was leaving with it! Any idea who would do such a thing?
