French cult favorite Kitsuné turned to inspiration across the sea this time around for their fall 2009 lookbook, a veritable Ivy League gold mine of pretty, preppy, boy-meets-girl looks. Designer Masaya Kuroki names the ultra-sexy American flick The Graduate as his inspiration for the collection, but rather than MILF Mrs. Robinson serving as lead muse, he cites Dustin Hoffman's character Ben Braddock as (not-so-perfect) role model. The result is a series of androgynous looks for women, like a sharp black pant suit or a mustard yellow blazer and tie ensemble, with a boxy little grey swing coat veering more toward the feminine. As for men, there are plenty of the slightly rough-around-the-edges but good-boy uniform going on, like corduroy suits and crest-emblazoned cardigans. Perfect for playing the innocent yet tormeted girl/boy victim if you so happen to be seduced by an older man/woman and then sucked into an affair, no?
