Sometimes the best things come in small packages—candy, perfume, shetland ponies. Fashion designer Danielle Suppa, who hails from Toronto, sure seems to think so. Her new line of hats, called Le Petit Beret, is a collection of mini-chapeaus charming enough for any occasion, be it a fete or a picnic. Originally designed for Suppa's Spring 2008 ready-to-wear show, the little berets took off and now she spends most of her time crafting them in her equally tiny studio. Her motto? "When life gives you scraps, make hats." Available in a rainbow of colors, Suppa's core collection of mini-berets are 100% wool and are hand made one by one. Who could resist jauntily perching one of these "aubergine" or "dijon" colored chapeaus atop their head? For her new fall collection, the designer has created printed berets in patterns like snow leapard and tweed. She even has a handy little illustration on her site for wearing instructions. Come winter, these toppers might not be keeping your head cozy and warm, but you'll definitely be looking tres-chic.
