The Best Reason To Buy Local: This Oh-So-Cute Guide To Pie

One of the most marvelous things about living in a small city like Washington is that it's easy for creatives to find each other — and when they do, seriously cool things tend to happen. That's precisely the case with illustrator Elizabeth Graeber and baker/blogger Emily Hilliard of Nothing-in-the-House, who've teamed up to create a full-color, illustrated almanac of sweet pie recipes and stories.
Landing just in time for the holiday baking (and gifting) season, PIE. A Hand Drawn Almanac is available for pre-order for $13, and it'll land on your doorstep the first week of December, neatly wrapped with baker's twine. After December 5, you can scoop a copy in various local shops and online for $15. And to celebrate the book release, the creative duo will host a party on Wednesday, December 5, at Ginger Root, where you can meet them and sample their respective favorite pies. How sweet is that?
