Pinstripes Get A Punky New Spin

The Age of Enron might be going through dire straits right now, but that doesn't mean we can't still stick it to 'em by taking their iconic boardroom pattern and turning it into something a wee bit subversive. Pinstripes (also known as The Wall Street Pajama, in our part of town) got a fresh kick in the seat from Alexander Wang and Yigal Azrouël who redid the vertical stripes in punky separates that we want to copy right now. But shoppers, beware! One badly flared pant, an awkward waistcoat, or—God forbid—a fedora hat later, and you'll turn into a Kevin Federline-meets-New-Jack-Swing wannabe.

The key is to pick a pinstripe in a modern cut, like a cropped and tapered trouser, a cute tap short, or a jacket in the most non-corporate silhouette you can find. Counter the look with punk standbys like an ass-kicking boot, a leather jacket, and hair and makeup that might make your mother cry. So, look below for three R29-approved pinstripe pieces you can buy right now.
