With less than a month to go before Chicago's Union Park gets taken over by the world's best indie acts, it's officially time to get pumped for Pitchfork. As far as we can tell, the best way to get in music-fest mode is to familiarize yourself with all the artists hitting the stage.
Sure, you already love Yo La Tengo and Belle & Sebastian, but his year's lineup is Pitchfork's broadest selection yet, with a stronger-than-usual punk component, inspired hip-hop choices, and three Dev Hynes-associated acts (a.k.a. Solange, Sky Ferreira, and Dev's own Blood Orange project). If we're being honest, though, it's headliner and native Chicagoan R. Kelly that has us more excited than anyone. We've nabbed tracks from every band we could for our Spotify playlist below. What song will you be requesting come July 19?
