Ralph Lauren has a funny, magical way of making you feel like you're on his relaxed Colorado cattle ranch and on the swanky Upper East Side at the same time. It's something only the 75-year-old fashion designer can do. And, his latest endeavor, culinary hotspot The Polo Bar (the third of Lauren's eateries), blends both sophistication and la vie sportive seamlessly.
“I’m drawn to the kind of food that people truly enjoy — vibrant food that people want to return to time and again,” the designer said in a press release. The restaurant's menu is pretty much exactly what everyone wants: all things comfort. Think cheeseburgers with pickles and bacon, Ralph's famous corned-beef sandwich, and the trendiest kale Caesar salad on the block.
While we could go on and on about how awesome it is to slurp oysters in a mahogany, plaid, and all-things-equestrian heaven, we can't forget about the resto's boozy side — because, really, who doesn't love a good cocktail? Post up at the bar, order a winter warmer, and you just might find yourself cozied up next to Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller. Or, if you fancy yourself a mixologist, make Lauren's classic Old Fashioned in the comfort of your own home, using the recipe below.
