For ladies who worry (even the teensiest bit) about the width of their hips or the length of their legs, embracing summer's fixation with printed bottoms can be a challenge. While we think you're gorgeous (duh) and shouldn't have to give a hoot about any so-called figure flaws, we'll acknowledge that there's definitely a right way to wear a power print without feeling self-conscious.
Need a visual? You're in luck: We've got a real-life lady — Katherine Martinez of La Petite Marmoset — to show us how it's done. Read on to see her super-chic ensemble, and pick up a tip or two to switch up your own skirt routine.

The secret to pulling off a busy print on your lower half? Keep the rest of your ensemble crisp and clean, and opt for sleek accessories to provide some extra polish. While Katherine actually used a vintage scarf to create the look of a skirt, we chose the real deal in a vivid pattern with a decidedly retro vibe. Use a pair of edgy collar tips to modernize a classic sleeveless button-up, and finish the look with a structured bag and a glam, leg-lengthening strappy sandal.
