You’re Invited To An Exclusive Screening Of Disney’s Queen Of Katwe

When a movie like Disney's Queen of Katwe comes out, you know award season is upon us. The inspiring new film has all the makings of an award winner: a true story of triumph in the face of adversity. More specifically, it’s about Phiona Mutesi, a world-famous chess player who grew up in the Ugandan slum of Katwe. And it doesn't hurt that Mutesi's mother is played by Lupita Nyong'o. The movie itself will be released on September 30, but if you’re in New York, you can see it a few days early at our screening on September 20 at 7 p.m. It will take place at the AMC Loews Lincoln Square 13 theater on the Upper West Side — oh, and there will be free snacks (popcorn and soda, of course). If you're still not convinced, check out the trailer below. Are you in? RSVP here.
