What was the inspiration behind the baubles?
“The entire collection was inspired by countless vintage designs I have seen over the years as both an editor and stylist. I’ve been mentally archiving ideas for nearly two decades! This collection was mainly inspired by the art deco period of the '20s infused with elements of the '60s and '70s. I knew I wanted a mix of statement and layering pieces. It was also important to have stones, links, textures, and chains that could be mixed and matched. I guess that comes form the stylist in me. Most importantly, I wanted to create really glamorous and luxurious pieces at an accessible price point.”
Did you ask for advice from any of your go-to designers for red-carpet dressing?
“I have seen so much throughout my career, and have had the privilege of working with the most creative geniuses of our time.”
Do you have a favorite item from the jewelry collection?
“The long tassel necklace is my favorite piece — that's where it all started. The initial inspiration came from a vintage piece I had seen a couple years ago. It is such an incredible statement piece — plus, it’s super versatile and can be worn so many ways.”
What’s your favorite stone of all time and why?
“I would have to go with diamonds — it sounds cliché, but it’s true, they're so timeless.”
What was the biggest challenge of putting this together?
“Editing — I have such an unbelievable love of jewelry. There were so many pieces I wanted to create. Having to narrow down my collection was probably the hardest thing.”
Which celebs would you love to see in your new jewelry designs?
“Anybody who's passionate about it — I just want people who love it to wear it.”
What type of girl wears RZ-designed jewels?
“Honestly, I think there's something in this collection for everyone. That was a really important factor for me.”
