Is Gap’s Latest Creative Director The Next Jenna Lyons? We Hope So…

There's a reason that Gap's latest fall lookbook was such a breath of fresh air — its most recent creative director, Rebekka Bay, is kind of a powerhouse. Coming from H&M's higher end line, COS, Bay understands how to make high-fashion styles palatable (and affordable) to us regular folk and has a vision for Gap that's making us excited about the mall brand once again.
While Gap in recent years has been a tad manic (tomboy basic one season, polished and sleek the next), Bay comes in with a singular, streamlined perspective that combines Swedish forwardness with All-American sportswear. All the things you loved about Gap in the '90s seems to be making a (welcome) return: Lovely sweaters, flattering khakis, versatile outerwear, crisp button-ups, and denim feel more special than your average mall finds.
We've already said this, but we'll say it again: Bay has only been at Gap for six months now, but the recent fall lookbook is evidence enough of some exciting new changes. A MObama outfit and Oprah appearance won't be too far in the future now... (Daily Mail)
