Prepare for the onslaught of Rooney Mara: Our staff members who have been lucky enough to see The Girl With A Dragon Tattoo
say she's captivating, and her hardcore transformation into the tattooed, racoon-eyed, ass-kicking Lisbeth Salander for the upcoming David Fincher remake almost makes us forget that Rooney is quite elegant. (Weird fact: In order to really embrace Lisbeth, Mara went from earringless to having four holes, plus a nose and nipple ring.) But before we get too attached to Rooney-as-Lisbeth, the young actress arrived last night to the Dragon premiere in a look that reminded us just how Audrey Hepburn (gone a bit goth) the football heiress can be. Wearing a sleek and sculpted Rodarte black wool coat and a pretty side-bun, Mara adds a fun pop of cherry red lips, echoing similar sexy, elegant, and—perhaps to echo her character—all-black or white ensembles on her worldwide press tour—Givenchy Haute Couture in London, Roksanda Ilincic in Stockholm, and Prabal Gurung (over which she wore the coat) in New York. We have every reason to believe Ms. Mara is going to be a fixture on every best-dressed list of 2012—now let's just see if she pops some color at the GGs.
