Sabrina Carpenter cemented herself as the pop princess of the summer (alongside Charli XCX and Chappell Roan). From boppy anthems like “Espresso” (which inspired us to spray on coffee-scented perfumes) to her infinitely-rewatchable “Taste” video (which she starred in alongside the stylish Jenna Ortega), she's taken the music world by storm — something that'll only continue in the fall with the Short N’ Sweet Tour, which kicked off on September 23.
Her style is just as exceptional as her songs: Via her concert outfits, music video costumes, and red-carpet looks, Carpenter has claimed ultra-feminine, whimsical, and nostalgic pieces such as platform Mary Jane heels (which she regularly sports to heighten her 5-foot frame) and dresses that are — much like her stature, personality, and the title of her sixth studio album (which spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200) — short and sweet as her own.

Whether you’re looking to channel Carpenter's style to add some flirty whimsy to your fall outfits, planning your Short N’ Sweet Tour concert ’fit, or looking ahead to the singer’s holiday Netflix special, here are the best celebrity-approved trends to try — please, please, please!

Sabrina Carpenter Style: Mini Dresses & Skirts

Photo: Gotham/GC Images.
Carpenter is no stranger to the micro mini skirt trend, especially if the mini skirts are of the low-rise variety. Recently, she wore a Miu Miu bubble style in New York City and a Roberto Cavalli pleated one at Coachella. She also loves an itty-bitty mini dress, which can double as night-out looks for those of us who aren’t working late because we’re singers.

If the former aren’t sparking your love of all things Y2K, opt for high waists with not-so-micro lengths, like the ones below. You'll also find lace slips that resemble Carpenter’s preferred on-stage wardrobe (and mimic her Skims campaign), trendy drop-waist styles, and strapless dresses that look like the one she wears on the “Espresso” cover art. Oh, and consider slipping on a garter belt, too, to match the custom Victoria's Secret one Carpenter just debuted on tour.

Sabrina Carpenter Style: Platform Mary Jane Heels

When she’s not wearing white go-go boots, Carpenter is usually in ultra-chunky Mary Jane platform. And if she can slay full-on dance choreography in these sky-high shoes, we have faith that we can take them out on the town. You can go for Carpenter’s signature bright-white or rhinestone-studded platforms, or opt for equally playful pink jelly shoes, cream slingbacks, metallic peep-toes, or stacked satin heels.

Sabrina Carpenter Style: Statement Jackets

Carpenter has been styled in several statement jackets. At Coachella, she wore both a blue-and-white moto and snakeskin leather topper. And she really went for it in her “Please Please Please” music video, with bright pink and neon green fur coats.

Take inspiration from the singer with colorful faux leather, graphic denim, or leopard print jackets (a fall trend!).

Sabrina Carpenter Style: Heart Cut-outs

When Carpenter sang that she “caught that L-O-V-E,” she meant it, making hearts a key motif of her performance looks. Many of her lace and embellished strapless mini dresses are from Frolov, and feature heart cut-outs on the center of the chest. If this placement seems too on-the-nose for your everyday style, you can still wear your heart... on your (literal) sleeve, mini dress, jeans, or tank top.

Sabrina Carpenter Style: Retro Silhouettes & Accessories

If the “Espresso” music video and Carpenter’s Vogue World runway look didn’t influence you to cart up vintage-inspired swimsuits, cat-eye sunglasses, and bold head scarves this summer, then perhaps the “Taste” costumes will convince you to try retro silhouettes and motifs this fall.

Whether it’s the divisive capri pants trend or statement polka dots, you can take on the singer’s nostalgic style in more subtle ways. Look out for sweetheart necklines, all-over ruching, gingham prints, and '50s-inspired accessories.
