Conor Oberst and The Felice Brothers
Fans of Conor Oberst know his lyrics are pure poetry, and his folky melodies are capable of soothing any woe plaguing us. That’s why we’re nothing short of stoked he’s making his way to the Bay this Saturday. It was only a matter of time — he does have a song dubbed “Sausalito,” after all. The Felice Brothers will be sharing The Fillmore stage with Oberst, and after catching the acts you might just walk away saying, “This is the first day of my life.”

Youth Lagoon and The Pure
Trevor Powers is bringing his Youth Lagoon lo-fi pop to our ears this very weekend, so we can finally softly bop our head to favorites like “17,” “Cannons,” and “Afternoon.” And, with The Pure joining him in the jams, good luck trying to keep us away from The Mezzanine. Note that this one is only for those 21 and over, kiddos!

Zedd, Oliver, and Alex Metric
After hearing Zedd’s crazy-talented spins as a DJ, with songs like “Clarity” and “Stay The Night” blaring through our radio speakers, it’s clear he’s somebody we’ve got to see in action. The hot producer has booked two nights at the Fox Theatre — the first is already sold out, but next Wednesday still has room for us to jump and down to the beats. Go ahead and say sorry to your ear drums already because they’re guaranteed to be ringing for a few days after, but will be well worth it.

Common and Special Guest
It’s hard to not feel entranced with the messages that the charming, bespectacled Common raps about. Next Saturday, the master lyricist will be spitting great tracks like “The Morning,” “Blue Sky,” and “Ghetto Dreams” live in S.F. Here’s hoping his “special guests” also scheduled on the lineup are doozies.

Tim Kasher, Laura Stevenson, and Jake Bellow
You’d think an artist that churns out tunes with downer titles like “I’m Afraid I’m Going to Die Here” would make for a gloomy show, but Tim Kasher is sure to put on a performance that will be nothing short of awesome. And, as a personal friend of Oberst himself, what more could we expect? Don’t let this one pass you by!

Walk The Moon, The Mowgli’s, and Smallpools
Can’t stop listening to Walk The Moon’s “Anna Sun” on repeat? Us, either. The only thing better than its constant rotation is seeing it performed live. The band is coming at us on the 17th of the month for a show guaranteed to be as out of this world as the lunar planet itself. The Mowgli’s and Smallpools will be there doing their thing, too, so get ready for a show that will “rattle this town.”

Passion Pit with The Joy Formidable
If there’s any indie-pop band that doesn’t need an introduction, it’s Passion Pit. We mean, is there a song that can lift our spirits faster than “Sleepyhead?” We doubt it. Liven up a normally dull Monday night by catching them, along with the Joy Formidable, live at the Fox Theatre.

The Naked and Famous with The Colourist and NO
If you can’t make the before-mentioned Fox Theater act, luckily there will be another stellar band ready to blow the lid off of the place just a few days later. The Naked and Famous will not only belt out its hits like “Young Blood,” but you can expect some newbie songs from its new album, too. The Colourist and NO will be joining the fun for one rad show.

J.Cole With Wale
Maybe its because his lyrics have us nodding our heads, or because his latest track “Crooked Smile” was inspired by Fruitvale Station, but we can’t get enough J.Cole. Listen to him bare his soul at The Warfield late this month with Wale. The tour is dubbed What Dreams May Come True, and you may just not want to wake up after.
