Runway Report: Alexandre Herchovitch

alexh0908a
At Alexandre Herchovitch, we sat in front of a talented emerging jewelry designer, Regina Chan, who was wearing one of her necklaces made of layered zippers over a silk YSL top. We'll definitely be on the lookout for more of her pieces. But if was AH's new collection that was the main event. This season designer Alexandre Herchcovitch used his platform for a political anti-war message titling his collection "Army of Love." Taking inspiration from Ottoman military uniforms and poetic ethnic prints, the collection had a soft palette and distinctly feminine feel echoed by army playsuits as well as loads of ruffles on dresses, silk blouses and the seats of shorts. With jigsaw puzzle pieces of metallic fabric on cap sleeves and capelets and his amazing criss-cross heel ankle boots it's no wonder that Herchcovitch has Cory Kennedy, The Cobrasnake, and Leigh Lezark, all front row.
