All together now: Sex and the City has a perfume? Does it smell like sugary Magnolia cupcakes and the salty tears of desperation (with top notes of cosmos, naturally)? The curiously named "Sex in the City" perfume was the most counterfeited scent in 2011 according to the U.S. Customs & Border Protection, which seized nearly $8 million worth of the knocked-off scent.
If sold at authentic, real prices, the perfumes would have totaled $45 million. The different Sex in the City scents (please note, the in/and switch-up is killing us right now), retail for $10.99 for 3.3 oz., which puts it in the same scent bracket as Jovan Musk and Exclamation by Coty. If we've learned anything, it's this: Do not buy fake Sex in the City perfume, but also, do not buy the real Sex in the City perfume. It probably smells like fruit loops. (WWD)
