There's always been a little West Coast vs. East Coast beef about who has the better shops. Everyone seems to have weighed in on the issue, but the design duo behind new bi-costal boutique, The Reformation, has a solution to help settle the score. Opening up their L.A. location today, and their New York extension later this winter (somewhere on Ludlow...), The Reformation is all about sharing the love. Developed by Yael Aflalo, of Ya Ya design fame, and her partner Chi Bui, The Reformation's design motto is all about instant gratification, as they seek to make great clothes that one could "wear out that night." Reconstructing vintage garments, the ladies behind The Reformation are also all about "increasing the uniqueness and thrift" of older pieces that you simply can't part from. Cutting down on waste, but never on style, The Reformation's streamlined but distinct clothes are aimed at providing the chic, urban woman with what exactly her closet, wallet, and environment are craving--no matter what coast she represents. Sounds like it might be time to call a truce.
The Reformation is located at 142 N La Brea Ave in Los Angeles.
