As if we needed another reason to love Scandinavian design, now we can get a little slice of it delivered right to our doorsteps. The concept behind S.F.-based subscription box service Skandicrush — not to be confused with the obnoxious game — is totally genius and perfect for the minimalists out there.
Think of it as the Birchbox for interior-design geeks that actually brings the essence of your favorite blogs to you every month. Prices range from $55 to $65, and the contents may include items like artsy salt and pepper shakers (pictured), napkins, cutting boards, and wooden objects by brands like Normann Copenhagen and Sagaform. Whatever you get, you can bet it'll be a winner.
Founder Ana Denmark (yes, that's her real last name) launched the company in September of this year after a few failed attempts at scouring Craigslist for cool design pieces. "Over the past few years I've been obsessed with Scandinavian design, but there are tens of thousands of products in the market so it became almost a full-time job to find the best stuff," Denmark told us. And, thus, the idea for Skandicrush was born.
The cool part is, you have no idea what’s in store for you until you open the box. Hey, who doesn’t love surprises? Holiday boxes are currently sold out, but sign up for January delivery to start the New Year stylishly.
