My style in six words or less:
“Adam Ant meets Bob Mackie for Cher.”
My first major, big-ticket style purchase:
“Some of my best memories are of my mother and me in Paris, where we would meet once a year for a week of fun. One day we walked into Didier Ludot, a fantastic vintage store in the Palais Royal, and I found the most divine, vintage YSL black-lace-and-sequins dress. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever tried on, and she surprised me by getting it for me. I still have it, and I love to throw it on with a leather jacket and a pair of boots. It reminds me of her.”
My three favorite places to shop:
“New York Vintage, the Marché aux Puces in Paris, and Patricia Field.”
My style theme song:
“My undying love for sequins, leather, and men's shirts make for one ‘Bizarre Love Triangle.’”
I could never, ever part with:
“I love all my babies equally, but if something happened to my hat collection, I’d be heartbroken. I've been collecting them for so long. Each one reminds me of a place and a person.”
My boldest summer-only style move:
“Toplessness!”
