Speakeasy Sundays Come to Tony’s Pizza Napoletana

When it comes to serving up mouth-watering pizza pies, we can always trust North Beach resto Tony’s Pizza Napoletana to get the job done right. And starting this Labor Day Sunday, the Naples-style pizza joint, headed up by famed local pie-slinger Tony Gemignani, will be kicking off its latest installment to the menu: Speakeasy Sundays. What does this mean for your plate? Basically, a little booze will be hidden inside every late-night bite you order, including Sailor Jerry Mac & Cheese, Jagermeister Redux Caprese Skewers, Jameson Rosemary Potatoes, Lillet Blanc Fries, Anchor Steam Corned Beef, and more. And, to make the experience even more intoxicating, the cult-followed eatery is offering the option of pairing those booze-laced meals with special old-time-y classic cocktails (and one amazing-sounding spiked milkshake!). The special menu is only available Sundays from 10:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. (no secret password required), and we hear a special discount will given to those who show off their fancy toppers from neighboring shop Goorin Bros. hats. Late night foodie rendezvous, anyone?
Tony’s Pizza Napoletana, 1570 Stockton Street (at Union Street); 415-835-9888.
