Amidst an Astroturf playground complete with a popcorn cart and balloons that spell out "S-T-E-L-L-A," Stella McCartney sat alongside Liv Tyler at her Cocktails and Cotton Candy event at Saks Fifth Avenue last night. The event both debuted her newest collection and benefited the Naked Heart Foundation (an organization that provides safe playgrounds for children in urban Russia). With more in common than rockstar dads, these two beauties were excited to be part of the cause. "The foundation is so fantastic that it’s enabling people who don’t normally have access to that to get out there," Stella said amidst passing trays of vegetarian treats and the melodic duwop a capella group.

Hot off the heels of chairing the Met Gala, McCartney also presented some of the drop-dead gorgeous dresses worn on Monday, like Rihanna's sheer-sided, lacy number and Gwyneth Paltrow's diamond-encrusted, open-back dress. "I guess I just was trying to compliment the woman within a bit," McCartney said of her wide-ranging clientele with such different styles. While she wouldn't spill on any Met Gala behind-the-scenes gossip (bummer), she did express her support for her fellow English designer who was being honored, Alexander McQueen. "We were colleagues and friends," she said, "and led quite different lives. But also quite parallel lives at the same time. I was always very proud of him." She adds, "It’s a huge honor for him. I think for me, I just wanted to be there to celebrate that." As for his successor, Sarah Burton, Stella remarks, "I think she’s doing a great job."
