It wouldn't be unfair to cover fashion-forward swimwear with a sweeping generalization of “overworked”, right? A lot of the time it seems when 'fashion' and 'swimwear' are used in conjunction, the result is often something jewelled, dazzled, and anything but swimable. Even those less-endowed might risk a wardrobe malfunction with a slight shuffle on their loungers in some barely there bathers— let alone the rest of us in the real world.
Well, consider this about to change: With Australians being well-practiced swimmers — knowing a thing or two about looking stylish whilst dodging a deadly jelly— Aussie Brand Suboo brings us Floridians some practical pieces from the Pacific. Set to launch their debut stateside collection at Miami's upcoming Fashion Week, the brand's laid-back aesthetics and breezy beachwear makes for faultless summer style. Taking cues from the rest of their buddies Down Under— neons à la Sass & Bide, Romance Was Born's directional prints and Dion Lee's geometry skills— the collection merges multiple trends into one all-together lookbook. Running on a pastelle palette, highlights of azure and ochre will pop against a glowing Miami beach bronze. Check out the debut U.S. show on Sunday, July 22... if you can.
