It’s no secret that the D.C. restaurant scene is buzzing — every time we feel like we’ve finally tested all of the latest and greatest offerings, a new spot pops up to add to our ever-growing must-visit list (and yes, we're counting the caravan of food trucks in Lafayette Park on there).
If you’ve had trouble keeping up with Washington's eatery empire, we feel you — and we've got the perfect plan to get you up to speed. Check out Taste of D.C. this weekend, where more than 50 of the District's best restos are convening on Pennsylvania Avenue to serve up samples from their top-rated menus. Just imagine: all your favorite spots, without the high prices (at least one item at every vendor will ring up for under $3), need for a reservation, or gratuity charge — it's basically fast food for foodies.

You’ll find a bevy of restaurants represented, including many of our tried-and-true favorites from across the DMV — think Café Bonaparte, Kushi, Co. Co. Sala, Belga Café — plus, entertainment and a tent filled with plenty of drinks. Also in the mix: A food-truck alley lined with familiar mobile friends and new concepts (like the trailer version of Surfside in Glover Park). A wallet-friendly ticket gets you into the fest and score you a drink of your choice (water, soda, beer or wine). Now, who's ready to dig in?
When: Saturday, October 6, through Monday, October 8, from noon to 7 p.m.
Where: Pennsylvania Avenue NW (between 9th and 14th streets NW); no phone. Tickets are $8.99 to $10.
