If you've had a few spare minutes to spend on one of the many TED talks on YouTube, you know that the lectures and performances are seriously inspiring. So, we're more than a little curious to see what Washington does with its very own (independently organized) TEDxWDC talk later this month.
The event is going down at THEARC in Congress Heights in Anacostia, and for a full day on March 24, you can hear presentations by leaders from the city's six creative clusters (which include culinary arts, museums, performing and visual arts, media, and architecture). Some of our favorite people will present, including Pink Line Project's Philippa Hughes, Kristina Bilonick of Pleasant Plains Workshop, Hugh & Crye's Pranav Vora, and Mazi Mutafa of Words, Beats & Life. Full access includes breakfast, lunch from Busboys & Poets, and a cocktail reception. If you need a bit of artistic or entrepreneurial inspiration, or if you just want to be in the loop on D.C.'s transformation into a creative capital, you'll want to snag a $65 ticket, stat.
When: Saturday, March 24, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Where: THEARC, 1901 Mississippi Avenue SE; 202-889-5901. Buy tickets here.
