Credit Timo Weiland for the "Gloria Vanderbilt and Keith Richards just back from India in the '60s" theme to his fall '11 collection, but Leonardo Manetti of ION Studio took that inspiration and created an easy DIY hair trick: the twine hair tie. Manetti started with Davines Defining Cream Molding Foam for hold, added a deep side part, then dried hair straight. Instead of just pinning hair in the front, he threaded a medium-weight piece of twine through hair at the temples and secured it with a simple knot. The result? A subtle, natural hair accessory we're obsessed with.
Davines Defining Creative Moulding Foam, $22.89, available at Amazon.
