In NYC, “Best of” lists are as ubiquitous as the restaurants they feature. And, that makes sense — there are a lot of great offerings within these city limits. But, even though it seems there's a new roundup every day, we never fail to check them out to see if our favorites are included, and if there might be a few new spots to try. Today's list: The Daily Meal’s “30 Best Restaurants in New York City.”
More than 100 “dining experts” — think critics, writers, food bloggers — from across America voted on an initial list of 430 nominees. Shockingly, in the age of Brooklyn, there were only two outer-borough restaurants on the list — and only one called the BK home. Blanca, the little sister to buzzy Bushwick pizzeria Roberta's, was #30 on the list. And, at #27, Queens-based SriPraPhai is also the only Thai restaurant.
So, if only two the best eats in NYC are in the outer boroughs, which 'hood houses the most? The East and West Villages each have five; the Flatiron District contains four. But, believe it or not, the dining experience that nabbed the top honors is located in Times Square. Click over to The Daily Meal for the complete list. And, let us know in the comments if your favorite NYC restaurant made the cut. (The Daily Meal)
