The Bold Italic Launches A Print Edition

It seems fellow awesome and locally themed site The Bold Italic is thumbing its nose at print-media skeptics and launching a print edition next month. With plans to publish quarterly, the content in the tangible publication will stick to what TBI is known for: Experiential stories written by "bold locals." "As much as people enjoy reading online, they want something beautiful to hold in their hands and put on the coffee table," reasons Nicole Grant, the site's producer. "We want our magazine to be well-loved and an indispensable resource in those dire moments when you are craving inspiration for a truly unique San Francisco adventure." The first mag, dubbed Volume One: 25 Ways to Be a Local, will be out September 12, and will list 25 must-do-before-you-die activities, including grubbing at underground dining clubs, sipping certain artisan cocktails, and exploring the city's surf scene. At a mere $3 (you can buy it here), it's pretty much a no-brainer. Also a no-brainer? Celebrating it all at the September 16 launch party going down in an old-time-y Beaux-Arts penthouse. Rest assured we'll keep you in the loop on that.
