We think fashion's found a new sports darling—with Sean Avery out of the limelight, Knicks center and power forward Amar'e Stoudemire has been entertaining the fancies of fashion ladies like Anna Wintour. Now, the dapper basketballer will officially collaborate with Rachel Roy in co-designing both her lines. The vision? The WAG—a wife or girlfriend of a sports player, like Khloe Kardashian or Victoria Beckham. The execution? Stoudemire's acting as a sort of a Yes-or-No man, and will nix Rachel's sketches that don't appeal to him (we call this kind of "designing" the "Kira Plastinina method"). His qualification? Says Amar'e, "As long as I remember, I always did something with my clothes. I would slice up the bottom of my jeans so that they would look different. I would change the design of my shirt and add an extra layer. I would wear two different tennis shoes." There you have it folks—courtside fashion as picked from a dude who used to wear self-fringed denim and mismatched sneakers. We can't wait to see the first launch. (WWD)
