Brooklyn based writers + Brooklyn based actors + Brooklyn based musicians = this year's best new web series. We know, some of you are probably thinking, "wait…hasn't this already happened? Uh, hello Girls? But, after checking out the first three episodes of Adam Goldman's
The Outs
, we've come to realize that, although this show might seem like the gay version of Lena Dunham's hit (a Brooklynite and his friend search for love, purpose, and a place in New York), its realistic situations, amazing comic timing, and heartfelt scenarios lend it some unique aspects of its own. Goldman relies almost entirely on local businesses and artists, and the soundtrack includes Brooklyn's best music scenesters, like Beauty Feast, New Beings, and Strange Shapes. Bonus? The show is funded solely by a Kickstarter campaign and other fan donations.
