With U.S. Open madness upon us, Cole Haan teamed up with Interview Magazine and The Selby to celebrate the launch of Maria Sharapova's fall '10 collection. We started the night out around 8 p.m., heading to the Sky Room of the New Museum to get our party on. The theme was decidedly "I Want Candy," with sugary sweets everywhere. We chatted with famed photographer Patrick Mcmullan on the deck, where the views were jaw-dropping, and the weather was cooperating admirably: "I've been with Interview for 23 years," Patrick says, camera in hand. "Andy Warhol was the first to do a magazine about the glamorous." And boy was glamour on hand—in one corner Sharapova towered over guests like an exotic giantess (she's gorgeous, and crazy tall in person), Lorenzo Martone dished to party-goers about his new swim line (he's promised to tell us more soon), and Jen Brill, Scott Campbell, and The Selby turned heads. We peaced out when the mini-bottles of champagne ran out to run across town for Daily News columnist Carson Griffith's birthday. Along the way, we walked with Annabelle Dexter-Jones, who left the bash on a vintage-y pink bike and taught us how to tie a bow just the right way. This morning, though, there was no trace of the shoes Cole Haan gave out in lieu of gift bags—are you surprised that we inexplicably lost them on our way home?
