It seems like every day there's a new "web personality" worth looking out for, but now the newest chick on the www is not really new at all. Instead, at 125 years old, The Statue of Liberty will become the oldest girl with her own live web show—this Friday, to celebrate her landmark birthday, she's getting hooked up with five webcams that will be placed in her torch. The cams will be on 24/7 and will stream fish-eye views of the torch lit up at night, 180 degree panoramas of the harbor, and views of Ellis Island that have been unavailable to the public for almost a hundred years. We're not necessarily sure there was a high demand for these vistas, but it will definitely be cool to tune in to watch the construction of The World Trade Center, which will also be caught on Lady Liberty's torch-cam. So happy birthday to our favorite lady in green— the gift of webcams may be hard to top, but next year, we're getting you a (long overdue) belt to cinch that waistline!
