And another java spot on our Cutest Coffee Shops in S.F. list bites the dust. After saying bye-bye to the Tenderloin's Little Bird (which is now morphing into a late-night grub spot called Quick Fix, according to Eater SF), we're going to have to brace ourselves for yet another closing. It looks like The Summit on Valencia, is closing shop at the end of the month. And we'd just finished drying our tears.
According to Mission Local, the sprawling coffee shop will officially stop service on January 28, after struggling to meet the rent requirements of the building, which is owned by startup mentorship organization, I/O Ventures (hence all the for-rent office spaces nestled in the back of The Summit).
But don't think this is the last you'll hear from the concept coffee space. "We are proud of our time at 780 Valencia, and excited to take The Summit to the next level: a social enterprise spreading entrepreneurship and innovation around the world," The Summit's powers-that-be explain. "Follow us @thesummitsf or thesummit-sf.com as we document the launch of The Summit 2.0…" Trust that we'll keep you updated.
